1. How do I post an ad?

Posting an ad on www.vilasitha.lk is quick and easy! Simply click the pink Post Ad button and follow the instructions.

If you are not already registered, you will need to register in at the end when posting your ad.

Your ad will go live once it has been reviewed (this usually takes less than 4 hours during office hours).

2. Do I need to register prior to post an ad?

A.

No. Advertisers can post an Ad without getting registered before posting an advertisement.  But, the website will automatically create a user account for you and the login details will be sent to your email address.

3. How do I edit my ad?

A.

To edit an ad, please go to your ad's page and click on the "Edit ad" option.

Tip: you can find your ad easily by logging in to your account and visiting your "My ads" page!

To delete an ad, please go to your ad's page and click on the "Delete ad" option.

5. How do I set a new password on www.vilasitha.lk ?

To set a new password in www.vilasitha.lk , please log in to your account, go to the "Settings" page and enter a new password.

If you have forgotten your www.vilasitha.lk  password, you can:

Ads appear for 60 days, unless you delete them earlier.

7.I posted an ad but can't find it. What's wrong?

Tip: you can keep track of your ads easily by logging in to your account and visiting your "My ads" page!

Your ad may not be live due to one of the following reasons:

• It is still under review - this will show on your My Ads page, under “Ads under review”

• It may have it violated our posting rules - 

• You have used up your free ad allowance

If you have been waiting longer than 24 hours for a response from us, you may have given us the wrong contact details when you posted the ad. Try posting again or contact us.

8. Why has my ad been rejected?

A.

There can be one or many reasons for ad rejections. We have already sent you the reasons of the rejection. Sellers can amend the ad according our standards and polices and re submit for review. All of the ads are manually reviewed. If your ad violates our posting rules it will be rejected. You can read what changes you have to make before the ad can be approved in the rejection email.

Signing up for an account on www.vilasitha.lk  is quick, easy and completely free! To sign up on www.vilasitha.lk , please go to the Sign up page and follow the instructions. You can sign up with an email address or through your Facebook account.

Once you have signed up, a link will be sent to your email with instructions on how to verify your email address.

www.vilasitha.lk uses Unicode to display Sinhala and Tamil text. If you are using Windows XP or an earlier version, you may need to set up Unicode support in order to view our Sinhala or Tamil site.

Use an online keyboard, such as Google Transliteration for Sinhala or Google Transliteration for Tamil, and then copy-paste the text over to www.vilasitha.lk 

For some mobile phone users, it may be possible to obtain a Sinhala or Tamil keyboard through a smartphone app.

What are the rules for posting on www.vilasitha.lk ?

We don't allow ads that contain:

an item or service that is illegal in Sri Lanka

an item or service that is not located in Sri Lanka

an invalid phone number or email address

an unrealistic offer

offensive language

offensive pictures

text in the title or description that is not related to the advertised item or service

pictures that do not match or clearly show the advertised item or service

text in the first picture (except logos and product codes)

a non-specific item or service, e.g. a description of a company in general terms

a URL link that is not relevant to the advertised item or service

offers and requests for items or services in the same ad

exact same content as another ad, re-published within 7 days.

multiple items in the same ad

counterfeit goods, knockoffs or replica versions of another company’s product

In addition, once the ad is posted, the product or service in the ad cannot be changed.
